Islamabad: Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja announced that special initiatives are underway to promote precision farming in an effort to optimize crop production across the country. During a ceremony held in Islamabad, she emphasized the government's dedication to equipping the farming community with the latest technology and Artificial Intelligence, which is expected to not only improve efficiency but also significantly increase per acre yield.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister praised the development of the Land Information and Management System, a digital public infrastructure designed to compile comprehensive agricultural data nationwide. Shaza Fatima highlighted that this system would be instrumental in aiding innovators, researchers, policymakers, and farmers. It will provide them with crucial insights into weather patterns, agricultural growth, and road infrastructure, thereby facilitating the launch of new startups and enhancing the agricultural landscape.
