The treacherous terror act that targeted the National Oil Corporation (NOC) on Monday was carried out by three terrorists, said Mohammed Salak, spokesman for the Presidential Council of Libya's National Reconciliation Government.
Salak was quoted by the Media and Communications Department of the Presidential Council as saying that preliminary reports indicate that the terrorists, who were of African origin, detonated their explosive belts, killing two employees of the NOC and injuring 10 others.
The assault was strongly condemned by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), describing it as a cowardly terrorist attack targeting a facility that is a primary source of national wealth for the country. The Mission called on Libyans to desist from futile side conflicts and come together, in partnership with the international community, to eradicate the scourge of terrorism across the country.
