The AJK Cabinet in its meeting held in Muzaffarabad on Saturday approved subsidy on flour and compensation for the disabled persons residing alongside Working Boundary.

Prime Minister AJK Sardar Tanveer Ilyas presided over the meeting.

It was decided in the meeting that government will give a subsidy of 60 percent on the government flour to minimize people's sufferings.

The cabinet approved compensation to the disabled living alongside the Working Boundary of Punjab on the pattern of the Line of Control Package.

The cabinet also approved AJK Election Amendment Bill, AJK Food Plan Regulation Act, and the amendment to Local Government Act.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will attend the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland which will begin on Monday.

The Foreign Minister will be accompanied by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar.

The World Economic Forum annually brings together political and business leaders to identify pathways to overcome economic, social, and environmental challenges. This year's forum is being organized under the theme, "Cooperation in a Fragmented World".

The Foreign Minister and the Minister of State will participate in a number of WEF's 5-days events on contemporary global and regional issues.

The Foreign Minister will share Pakistan's perspective on economic and social impact of the evolving geopolitical realities, and challenges for the region's security and stability.

He will highlight the developing world's perspective on issues of climate change, food and energy security, and social vulnerabilities in times of high inflation, and slowing economic activity.

The Foreign Minister and the Minister of State will also meet participating dignitaries including political leaders, corporate executives, heads of international organizations, and leading media and civil society personalities.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says government’s economic team, under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's leadership, is making tireless efforts to improve the economy.

He expressed these views while talking to Governor Punjab Baligh Ur Rehman in Lahore on Saturday.

The Finance Minister expressed hope that economy will improve further in the coming days. He rejected the baseless impression that country could default.

During the meeting, overall country's economic and political situation also came under discussion.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb says Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has directed the party leaders and workers to do preparations for the election in Punjab.

In a series of tweets on Saturday, she said PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif passed on the directives while presiding over a consultative meeting of the party leadership in London.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said Nawaz Sharif had also directed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is also president of the PML-N, to set up a Parliamentary Board for this purpose.

She said the PML-N Quaid had asked the party leaders and workers to contest the election in Punjab with full passion, confidence, strength and preparations.

The information minister also quoted Nawaz Sharif as saying that the PML-N would stand victorious in the election.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has urged the civil servants to work hard to steer the country out of challenges.

He was addressing at the passing out ceremony of 45th Specialized Training Program of Pakistan Administrative Services’ Probationary Officers at Civil Services Academy in Lahore on Saturday.

He appreciated the active service to humanity, rendered by new civil servants in the flood hit areas, during their training period.

The Prime Minister said that public servants can serve the nation very well, if they are provided a conducive working environment and their services are properly recognized. He said that he visited several flood hit areas including Balochistan, and civil servants did their best to help humanity.

He said that newly trained officers are the future of Pakistan. He urged them to make Pakistan as per vision of Quaid-e Azam and Allama Iqbal.

Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan’s economy is facing a difficult time however we will overcome it soon. He said that he got financial relief from our brotherly state UAE, during his recent visit.

Earlier, the Prime Minister distributed the Program completion certificates to all participants as well as awards to the outstanding officers.

Punjab Governor Muhammad Baleegh-ur-Rehman and other notable personalities also attended the ceremony.

Chairman Senate Mohammad Sadiq Sanjrani has said the people and the government of Pakistan acknowledge the active contribution of China to the relief and rehabilitation efforts during the recent floods in the country.

This was stated by the Chairman Senate during a farewell dinner in honour of outgoing Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong in Islamabad.

He said that the relations between the two friendly countries are based on mutual respect and trust and China has supported Pakistan in every difficult time. He said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project is a gift from China to the people of Pakistan.

On the occasion, the outgoing Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong appreciated the comments of the Senate Chairman and said that the government and people of China are also proud of their everlasting friendship with Pakistan.

He said that China will continue to cooperate in the development of Pakistan and both the countries will continue to support each other’s position at regional and global forums.
