Saudi Arabia has also expressed solidarity with Pakistan over the deaths and injuries due to massive floods caused by torrential rains.

In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom's sincere condolences and sympathy to the Government and people of Pakistan over the losses.

The Saudi Government also offered condolence to the families of those, who were killed in the flash floods, and wished speedy recovery of the injured.

It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had a telephonic conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday regarding the flood situation in Pakistan.

Chairman of the Association of South East Asian Nation (ASEAN) Committee Islamabad Ambassador Nguyen Tien Phong said that ASEAN is a symbol of economic development for the whole world including Pakistan.

In an interview with APP, he said that the ASEAN has established excellent economic and trade relations with the whole world, which is likely to improve further in the future.

He said that according to the vision of ASEAN, these economic relations are to further strengthen economic and trade integration in the world, from which the rest of the countries including Pakistan can also get benefits.

The Ambassador said that today the economic volume of the ASEAN countries has exceeded 3.3 trillion dollars, which is likely to improve further in the near future.

He said that Pakistan's trade volume with ASEAN countries is 11 billion dollars which needs to be increased.

Rescue and relief operations are underway in flood-affected areas across the country and stranded people are being shifted to the camps and safer places.

Relief camps were being established across all calamity hit areas of the country, whereas food, medical aid and other relief items were being provided to affected people in the camps.

Besides provincial departments and Rescue 1122, officials of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), National Highway Authority (NHA), troops of Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force and Frontier Corps expedited rescue and rehabilitation operations in the flood hit areas of the country including KP and worst affected Balochistan.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed gratitude to all friendly countries for providing aid to help flood affected people in Pakistan.

Talking to media in Jafarabad district of Balochistan on Sunday, he said relief goods from the UAE, Turkiye and other friendly countries will reach the country soon.

Appreciating the efforts of Balochistan government for working tirelessly to rescue affected people, the Prime Minister said we are utilizing our all-out resources for helping the people.

He also appreciated the role of Armed forces in rescue and relief operations. The Prime Minister said he has contacted all Services Chiefs to discuss the entire situation of floods and related relief activities.

He said after reviewing the whole situation, a meeting of the cabinet will decide short, medium and long term plans for rehabilitation of flood affected people.

Shehbaz Sharif said he will not rest until all flood affected people get back to their homes safely.

The Prime Minister also announced a grant of ten billion rupees for Balochistan government for ongoing rescue and relief operations.
