Pakistan Railway will continue its operation for transportation of essential commodities and medicines in flood-affected areas of Balochistan.

This was stated by Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique while presiding over a meeting in Lahore.

The Minister directed to prepare future plans for trains during flood situation and up-gradation of infrastructure.

He also directed to operationalize 119 coaches after repair besides improvement in schedule of trains.

Khawaja Saad Rafique said Cart Bazars should be established at Railway land and interest free loans be arranged for cart owners with the cooperation of Akhuwat organization.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has once again directed National Disaster Management Authority and Provincial Disaster Management Authorities to jointly carry out rescue and relief operations in flood hit areas more effectively.

He gave these directions in a follow-up meeting regarding the relief work in the flood-affected areas in Lahore on Saturday.

Earlier, in a statement, Prime Minister said that a relief fund for assistance and rehabilitation of flood affected people has been established.

He made a fervent appeal to the people, especially the philanthropists, to generously help the people affected by the floods. He said despite difficult economic situation, the government has immediately released five billion rupees for the flood victims.

He said the cash assistance for the flood victims can be deposited in Prime Minister’s Relief Fund 2022 Account No. ‘G-12164’

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb says the PTI Chief Imran Khan used foreign funding to sabotage democracy and economy of the country.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, she said a conspiracy project, launched by Imran Khan, was executed in the country through the foreign funds received by his party during different periods in the last decade.

The Information Minister said the PTI Chief tried to weaken the parliamentary system in 2013, inciting his workers to attack the Supreme Court’s building, launched a civil disobedience campaign and made attempts to halt the CPEC by bringing political instability in the country.

She said the nation also needs to look into the reasons behind the “Imran project” under which Kashmir was sold, CPEC projects stopped and the country registered negative economic growth.

Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has strongly condemned the malicious campaign against security institutions on social media by some elements.

Addressing a press conference in Sialkot, he said the elements who have launched a campaign on social media against the security institutions over Lasbela helicopter crash incident are pursuing the agenda of enemies.

Paying rich tribute to the martyrs of the helicopter crash, the Defence Minister said they laid their precious lives for security of the country.

Terming security institutions as inevitable for defence of country, he said they are the guardians of our borders and pride of nation.

The Defence Minister said dragging martyrs in political issues is not a good thing for the country. He said this is an insult to the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the country and its people.

Israel in its continued brutalities has martyred twenty eight Palestinians including six children in air strikes and rocket attacks on Gaza during the last two days.

Israel claims it launched the operations due to threat from Palestine Islamic Jihad group.

Israel has stopped the transport of fuel into Gaza crippling the territory's lone power plant and reducing electricity to around eight hours per day.

An Egyptian delegation would be travelling to Gaza today for mediation talks and were hoping to secure a day's ceasefire in order to carry out the talks.
